70th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade
Today is a great holiday, an anniversary of a landmark event, an important milestone on the road to victory over fascism – the 70th anniversary of the complete lifting of the blockade of Leningrad.
Vladimir Spivakov, whose mother survived the siege, and Boris Eifman, whose creative destiny is inextricably linked to St. Petersburg, prepared a grandiose gift for the people of Leningrad – a ballet «Requiem» to music by Mozart and Shostakovich. The first to see the new ballet will be real heroes – those who rightfully own this victory: the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, defenders and residents of besieged Leningrad.
The solemn action was initiated by the Boris Eifman Ballet Theatre, the State Chamber Orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi» headed by Vladimir Spivakov and the Alexandrinsky Theatre headed by Valery Fokin. The concert is also attended by the Academic Large Choir «Masters of Choral Singing» (artistic director and chief conductor – Lev Kontorovich).
The concert will be held thanks to the support of the official partner of the orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi» Commercial Bank «Transport» Ltd.
