Greetings from Dmitry Khvorostovsky to Krasnoyarsk residents
Krasnoyarsk hosts the Trans-Siberian Art Festival. The concert programme opened with a performance by the State Chamber Orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi» (artistic director and chief conductor Vladimir Spivakov). Today, 25 March, the orchestra will give its second concert, in which Vladimir Spivakov will appear before the audience in two hypostases – conductor and violinist.
Elena Mironenko, Minister of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Region, said: «We are looking forward to this project, which has grown over the years. Its success is confirmed by the quality of the stars who traditionally attend the festival. For the first time in four years the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra under the baton of Vladimir Spivakov has come to us».
Vladimir Spivakov appealed to the residents of the Krasnoyarsk region in the Minister’s Instagram: «We are very good here in your region. I am very friendly with Dmitry Hvorostovsky, whom I saw just a week ago in London. He is very bored and loves your region, and asked me to say a huge hello and bow to you.»
Grigory Kovalevsky, director and soloist of the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra, shared his impressions of visiting Krasnoyarsk: We were here three and a half years ago, there was a big tour to the 35th anniversary of the orchestra. Today Krasnoyarsk will have the same programme as Carnegie Hall – there is no difference, the audience is the same in all countries, but we are warmer because we speak the same language. I remember the Krasnoyarsk audience – I first came here in 1965 – a wonderful audience, great conductors who worked here – Ivan Spiller, and you have a good orchestra and a new conductor.
On 25 March the orchestra will be performing the Concerto for Two Bach Violins (soloists Vladimir Spivakov and Alexei Lundin) as well as music by Mozart, Piazzolla and Shostakovich. The Philharmonic’s ticket offices have a small number of tickets for the concert, and if they run out, everyone can buy entrance tickets (without specifying a seat).
