The first public concert in the New Hall of the Moscow International House of Music will take place on 9 March 2020. Vladimir Spivakov, Anna Aglatova and the State Chamber Orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi» will perform works by Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti and Boccherini.

The presentation of the New Hall of the House of Music took place in April 2019 with the participation of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. Over the past year, the hall gained a complete image, becoming the main rehearsal space for resident orchestras of the Moscow House of Music – the State Chamber Orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi» and the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia.

«In this hall there are stunning technical innovations. In addition, it is very beautiful. It is really a multifunctional modern space, which we tried to fill with life», says Vladimir Spivakov.

Technical innovations, including a digital active sound management system, transformable stage space and unique acoustics, have since been appreciated by many outstanding musicians who have also rehearsed here. These include Anna Netrebko, Hibla Gerzmava, Joshua Bell and many others.

Vladimir Spivakov’s personal participation in decorating the New Hall defined its artistic concept as a unique artistic space. In the foyer, viewers will be able to see paintings and sculptures by famous contemporary artists and sculptors from the maestro’s personal collection. All of them were donated to the House of Music. Among the canvases are works by Evgeny Rastorguev, the centenary of whose birth this year is celebrated around the world, and whose paintings are on display in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Art Museum of Toulouse (France), the Cremona Foundation, private collections from different countries; paintings by Yuri Vasilyev, Boris Beach, Oksana Mas, Igor Novikov, sculptures by Sergey Sergeyev and others. The interior of the hall is also designed in a special style: it is adjacent to the paintings by Alexei Mochalov, Alexander Stotsky, Olga Kroitor and Alexander Vorokhob. The art room contains paintings by Dmitry Plavinsky and Vladimir Arefiev, antique furniture and personal belongings by Alfred Schnittke. One of the central elements of the room is a famous photographic portrait of the composer by Viktor Brel.

At the upcoming concert maestro Vladimir Spivakov, the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra and opera star and leading soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Anna Aglatova will perform works by Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti and Boccherini. The evening will open to the public a new concert hall on the map of the capital, which from now on will regularly host performances by famous musicians and artists, presentations, theatrical performances, creative meetings and other projects.

The new multifunctional hall of the House of Music is designed for 286 spectators. It is not only a modern rehearsal space for instrumental, vocal and theatre groups of all formats, but also a professional recording studio, as well as a unique art space for concerts broadcast on the radio and the Internet. The site’s facilities make it possible to organise theatre performances, conferences, screenings, lectures and other musical and educational events.

The developers of the hall concept have included the most modern and innovative technological solutions in the project, such as transformable stage, production lighting, simulated acoustics, multi-channel sound amplification system, video projection and recording equipment of the latest generation. The digital active sound space management system installed in the hall allows us to create optimal acoustic parameters for any team and any musical work. The video projection system makes it possible not only to create artistic and stage design for concerts and performances, but also to show movies and broadcast live events on the Internet.
