The Philharmonic has reopened its virtual concert hall
On 25 April the Chuvash State Philharmonic opened the doors of the virtual concert hall again. The goal of the exclusive project, which is rapidly covering Russia’s regions, is to provide residents of the republic with free access to the best examples of world music culture.
The previous time, visitors to the virtual hall enjoyed one of the most popular and dull genres of the modern stage, a fairy tale with an orchestra. Today, lovers of instrumental performance were offered an incendiary concert program «Vienna Brilliance», created by the State Chamber Orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi» under the direction of Vladimir Spivakov in tandem with Austrian violinist and conductor Peter Gut.
A real musical and theatrical action was unfolding on a large LED screen. Peter Gut, who, by the way, is known as one of the best connoisseurs of Austrian composing heritage, had not «done» anything. He used to «sprinkle» virtuoso passages, then begin to conduct directly with the violin in his hands, and then share his musical observations with the public.
To the inspired melodies of Johann Strauss (father and son), Josef Lanner, Carl Zierer and Franz von Zuppe, it was as if we had moved from our capital to the shining Vienna of millions of lights, breathed in the scents of ginger biscuits, strudel and Viennese sausages, imbued ourselves with the charming sounds of polkas and waltzes and admired the couples spinning at an imaginary ball.
