Lesson from professionals. Artists of the State Chamber Orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi» gave a master class for young musicians from Old Moscow. Today they came to our city with a single concert.

Classes with Grigory Kovalevsky, People’s Artist of Russia and Director of the State Chamber Orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi» are a real gift for young Starooskolsky kontrabasis.

«It was a little hard, because it was unusual to work with another teacher, but I liked it, a lot of advice was given on how to operate the bow, the phrases to work and transitions are smooth, just what I lacked was very useful», – Anna Mashtakova, a pupil of 7th grade at Children’s School No. 1.

Alina Shulga, a pupil of the 5th music school, has already decided to become a professional musician. In a year’s time she will receive her diploma and plans to enter the school, but in the meantime she is perfecting her violin playing skills.

«I liked the lesson very much, and now I will pay attention to some difficult places in a different way», – Alina Shulga, a 6th grade pupil at Children’s School No 5.

«Such master classes help children to choose the music profession, they see such talents, listen to concerts and develop in a more diverse way», – Liliya Ladina, Head of the String and Conjugation Department at Children’s School No 5.

The master class «Moscow Virtuosi» was initiated by the fifth music school. Her management, learning that the world-famous band was coming to Stary Oskol with a concert, asked the artists to give lessons.

The State Chamber Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Spivakov invited young musicians to its concert. At the request of the orchestra, special seats are always left for children.

«Children should sit on stage, talented children from music schools, that’s how much the stage allows – 100 people, 50, because for them it is the best master class. The conductor in front of them, they can come up at intermission and ask something», – Grigory Kovalevsky, director of the State Chamber Orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi».

The only Moscow Virtuosi concert in Old Oskol was held at the Miner Culture Centre.
