«Moscow Virtuosi» Spivakova and Anna Aglatova will open the new hall of the House of Music
The new hall of the Moscow International House of Music will open its doors to the public for the first time – on 9 March it will feature works by Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti and Boccherini performed by maestro Vladimir Spivakov, opera star of the Bolshoi Theatre Anna Aglatova and the State Chamber Orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi».
Since April 2019 the hall has been the main rehearsal space for resident orchestras of the House of Music – the State Chamber Orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi» and the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia.
Vladimir Spivakov notes the hall’s stunning technical innovations and its unique artistic design. «This is really a multifunctional modern space, which we tried to fill with life», he stressed.
Anna Netrebko, Hibla Gerzmava, Joshua Bell and many other prominent musicians who have rehearsed here have already had the opportunity to appreciate the digital active sound management system, the transformable stage space and the unique acoustics. This art space allows concerts to be broadcast on the radio and on the Internet, as well as theatrical productions and conferences to be organised here.
The artistic concept of the new artistic space was defined by Vladimir Spivakov’s personal participation. The foyer is decorated with paintings and sculptures by contemporary artists and sculptors from the maestro’s personal collection, which he donated to the House of Music. Here you can see paintings by Evgeny Rastorguev, Yuri Vasilyev, Boris Beach, Oksana Mas, Igor Novikov and sculptures by Sergey Sergeyev. The interior of the hall is decorated with paintings by Alexei Mochalov, Alexander Stotsky, Olga Kroitor and Alexander Vorokhob. The Artistic Room features a photographic portrait of the composer by Viktor Brel, paintings by Dmitry Plavinsky and Vladimir Arefiev, and personal belongings by Alfred Schnittke.
