Vladimir Spivakov gave his first public concert at the New Hall of the House of Music
Vladimir Spivakov, People’s Artist of the USSR, UNESCO Artist for Peace, Full Holder of the Order «For Services to the Fatherland», the State Chamber Orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi» and opera star Anna Aglatova presented to the public the New Hall of the Moscow International House of Music on 9 March 2020.
On the premiere evening the audience listened to works by Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti and Boccherini.
Among the guests of honour were Alexander Kibovsky, Minister of the Moscow City Government and Head of the Moscow Department of Culture, Sergei Zhilin, pianist and conductor, TV presenter Vladislav Flyarkovsky, four-time Olympic champion Alexei Nemov and many others.
The new multifunctional hall at the House of Music is equipped with the most modern and innovative technologies. Speaking about its acoustic properties, Vladimir Spivakov emphasised that the hall can compete with the best concert venues in the world.
«I think that everyone who will perform here will feel very comfortable. Although there is no traditional amphitheatre in the audience area, this does not hinder either the acoustics or the performance. On the contrary, it even helps to communicate with the audience», Anna Aglatova shared her impressions.
Thanks to Vladimir Spivakov, a unique art exposition appeared in the foyer of the New Hall: the audience saw works of art by famous contemporary artists and sculptors from the musician’s personal collection. Works by Evgeny Rastorguev, Yury Vasilyev, Boris Beach, Oksana Mas, Igor Novikov, Alexei Mochalov, Alexander Stotskiy, Olga Kroitor, Alexander Vorokhob and sculptures by Sergey Sergeev were among the canvases.
The art room, which Vladimir Spivakov dedicated to composer Alfred Schnittke, presents furniture from the composer’s house in Germany and his personal belongings.
«I wanted to create a real modern art space here, corresponding to good museums of modern art. Many of the things you can see here are works by famous artists. Their works are in the best museums of Amsterdam, Paris, London and the United States», said Vladimir Spivakov before the concert.
The possibilities of the new venue make it possible to organise theatre performances, conferences, screenings, lectures and other musical and educational events here. The hall is equipped with a stage that can be transformed, a multi-channel sound reinforcement system, video projection and recording equipment of the latest generation.
«The stage is divided into segments that function by themselves. This allows it to be adapted to different artistic tasks», explained Evgeny Chernikov, Deputy General Director of the House of Music.
According to Maestro Spivakov, the New Hall will now regularly host performances by famous musicians and artists, presentations, theatrical performances, creative meetings and other projects.
