Vladimir Spivakov, People’s Artist of the USSR, UNESCO Artist for Peace, outstanding violinist, conductor and public figure, initiated a large-scale online festival that brought together his teams in an effort to continue the cultural life of Russians during the closing of concert halls and to please his fans in other countries.

The National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia opened the online festival on 24 March with a video recording of the band’s first concert, which was included in the archive of the Moscow Philharmonic’s broadcasts. The Shostakovich Suite for Pop Orchestra – one of Vladimir Spivakov’s favourite works and, according to the maestro, one of the most life-affirming ones – took centre stage in the programme of the concert, which took place on 29 January 2012 as part of the marathon to mark the 90th anniversary of the Moscow Philharmonic Festival.

«Moscow Virtuosi» invited its subscribers to see first of all the concert of 12 December 2019 at Philharmonia 2, where Vladimir Spivakov performed as both a soloist and conductor.

The House of Music, where Vladimir Spivakov has been the permanent President since its opening, will present a multi-genre collection of recordings of its best events of the past, as well as live broadcasts of new concerts to support listeners.

The House of Music was the first in a series of archival recordings to put out a video of the final concert of the VIII Moscow Christmas Festival of Spiritual Music (24 January 2018), a large-scale programme dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Leonard Bernstein.
