Vladimir Spivakov played a duet with Vadim Repin for the first time and also addressed scientists from Academgorodok at the Trans-Siberian Art Festival
On 26 March, Vladimir Spivakov and the Moscow Virtuosi chamber orchestra performed at the Trans-Siberian Art Festival in Novosibirsk. At the concert, Vladimir Spivakov and Vadim Repin played a duet for the first time: soloists and the orchestra performed the Concerto for Two Bach Violins. At the end of the concert, Vladimir Spivakov asked Academgorodok scientists from the stage to «do something with a deficit in the world of love».
On 26 March Vladimir Spivakov performed with the State Chamber Orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi» in Novosibirsk. The concert took place as part of the Vadim Repin Trans-Siberian Art Festival and was the first time that Vladimir Spivakov and Vadim Repin played in a duet.
«At the rehearsal we found such an understanding, as if we had played together for the last 25?30 years», said Vladimir Spivakov, «Before that, I accompanied Vadim many times, standing at the conductor’s desk, «and even at the opening of this hall, a very good concert was memorable, at least for me», said Vladimir Spivakov, remembering the opening concert of the Arnold Katz State Concert Hall on 11 September 2013.
The maestro emphasized that playing in the ensemble is a great and special skill: Here it is important not to protrude yourself, on the contrary – you have to treat yourself as calmly as possible. There is something higher – there is music, there is the universe of Bach, we bow before it.
The musician also said that they have a long-standing warm relationship with the artistic director of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival, and one of the main qualities that, in his opinion, has Vadim Repin is the nobility of the game, focus on the essence of music and indifference to external effects.
«There is a lot of aggression, imperfections and an anti-harmony in the world. And there is no aggression in music – it calms people down, comforts them and harmonises them. All negative feelings disappear, people rise up», said Vladimir Spivakov on the press approach before the concert.
At a concert on 26 March in Novosibirsk, at the main venue of the festival – the Arnold Katz State Concert Hall – along with the Concerto for Two Violins, Basso continuo and the Bach Orchestra, the Shostakovich Chamber Symphony was performed, Kancheli’s Little Daneliade and Piazzolla’s series The Seasons in Buenos Aires, performed by orchestra soloists Denis Shulgin, Lev Iomdin, George Cai and Evgeny Stembolsky.
During the concert, additional places for listeners were placed on stage, including gifted children: free presence of young talents at concerts of the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra is a requirement of the team.
Vladimir Spivakov and his orchestra, after performing the main programme, gave the crowded hall three beads – before the last one, Astor Piazzolla’s Libertango, the conductor addressed the hall with the words that now, in his opinion, the world is living in a state of deficiency in love: «And I am very much asking Academgorodok scientists to do something about it».
The concert was attended by Sergei Menyailo, Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation to the Siberian Federal District, Vladimir Gorodetsky, Governor of the Novosibirsk Region, and Yury Petukhov, First Deputy Governor, Chairman of the Council of Deputies of Novosibirsk Dmitry Asantsev, Head of the Department of Culture, Sports and Youth Policy of the City Hall of Novosibirsk Anna Tereshkova, multiple Olympic champion Alexander Karelin and many other representatives of government and business community of Novosibirsk.
Tickets for a concert by the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra and Vladimir Spivakov were bought by Novosibirsk citizens back in January, less than a month after the start of ticket sales for the concerts of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival.
On 24 and 25 March the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra and Vladimir Spivakov performed in Krasnoyarsk, also as part of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival.
