The musicians of the world‑famous «Moscow Virtuosi» orchestra — caring mothers and fathers who strive for their children’s all‑round development and education — together with scientists from various fields of science, have come up with a series of unusual educational programmes that combine science and music. The artists and scientists enthusiastically create vivid images and musical scenes on stage that the child will definitely never forget.

It seems that musicians and scientists — physicists, biologists, chemists — are so far apart and are engaged in things that have nothing to do with each other! But this is not the case at all: the musicians of the chamber orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi» together with their friends who are scientists, have come up with an entire musical laboratory — a series of concerts for children, in which they explain and demonstrate how music works inside and how closely it is actually intertwined with various sciences — physics, mathematics, geography. Vivid imagery, interesting stories, and even physical experiments on stage will not leave either children or adults indifferent, and a concert by one of the world’s best chamber orchestras will remind you that music is far more than just science.

In the third program of the «Music Laboratory» we will discuss the mysterious connection between music and geography. It turns out that music began with the sounds of natural phenomena: the sound of the wind, the rustling of leaves, the melodies of bird voices, the echo in the mountains, the sound of the sea surf, the song of a whale in the ocean – all these gifts of nature have always been a source of inspiration for composers and even suggested various technological methods of sound production to them.

The programme is performed without a conductor.
