Concert on 5 October 2014
Every year the Moscow Philharmonic presents a subscription to the State Chamber Orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi». This year the season ticket will open with a concert featuring Julian Rachlin (http://www.mvco.ru/friends/yulian-raxlin/) On 5 October at the Pushkin Concert Hall in Moscow. P.I. Tchaikovsky Concert Hall.
At a concert with the Moscow Virtuosi, Julian Rachlin will perform in three roles: violinist, violist and conductor.
The first section will feature the famous overture to W.A. Mozart’s opera Le Marriage of Figaro and F. Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor, one of the first romantic concerti that is rightly considered one of the most vivid and significant in its genre.
After the intermission, «Mourning music» by P. Hindemith will be performed for solo viola and string orchestra – a sample of so-called «public» music.
The second section will conclude with another work by F. Mendelssohn – Symphony No 4 «Italian», written by the composer during a journey through Europe, which conveys the atmosphere of the Apennine peninsula.
See you at the concert.
