  • Concert on 5 October 2014

    29 September 2014

Every year the Moscow Philharmonic presents a subscription to the State Chamber Orchestra «‎Moscow Virtuosi». This year the season ticket will open with a concert featuring Julian Rachlin (http://www.mvco.ru/friends/yulian-raxlin/) On 5 October at the Pushkin Concert Hall in Moscow. P.I. Tchaikovsky Concert Hall.

At a concert with the Moscow Virtuosi, Julian Rachlin will perform in three roles: violinist, violist and conductor.

The first section will feature the famous overture to W.A. Mozart’s opera Le Marriage of Figaro and F. Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor, one of the first romantic concerti that is rightly considered one of the most vivid and significant in its genre.

After the intermission, «‎Mourning music» by P. Hindemith will be performed for solo viola and string orchestra – a sample of so-called «‎public» music.

The second section will conclude with another work by F. Mendelssohn – Symphony No 4 «‎Italian», written by the composer during a journey through Europe, which conveys the atmosphere of the Apennine peninsula.

    See you at the concert.
