  • New season ticket for Moscow Virtuosi

    13 November 2012

In the 2012/2013 season, the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra has prepared another gift for music lovers. This is a series of concerts for children and young people, which is held in conjunction with the Children’s Musical Theatre named after M. Gorky. It is called «Portraits of Composers» and is held jointly with the N.I. Satz Children’s Musical Theatre.

The peculiarity of this subscription is that for each of the almost two dozen «portraits» there are two concerts. Listeners will be able to enjoy different facets of composers’ talent during the week. For example, if today you have heard arias and orchestral pieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart performed by artists of the Natalia Sats Theatre, then in five days you will discover his chamber works, as well as works by his father Leopold performed by soloists from the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra.

The programmes are very diverse and informative. They will present well-known works as well as unexpected discoveries.

The first subscription concert, dedicated to I.S. Bach and A. Vivaldi, has already been a huge success. Ahead of this is an introduction to such composers as G.F. Handel, A. Corelli, T. Albinoni, L. Mozart, W.A. Mozart, P.I. Tchaikovsky, M.P. Musorgsky, A.P. Borodin, A.S. Arensky, A.G. Rubinstein, R. Schumann, J. Brahms, C. Debussy, and others.

The author of the subscription idea is the orchestra soloist Vitaly Handras.
