    MOSCOW, 31 May. /TASS/ Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin on Thursday opened the annual Red Square book festival, which brought together the best modern authors and publishers in the main square of the country. The annual book festival was marked by a performance of the State Chamber Orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi», reports TASS correspondent.

     

    In total, more than 500 events are expected to be held as part of the festival, the press service of the project reports. Muscovites and guests of the capital gathered in the main square to hear works by Mozart, Vivaldi, Boccherini, Piazzolla and Shostakovich right in the open air. Before each work performed by the orchestra, the audience was told its history. Many visitors were already seated in the stands with the books they bought on the first day of the festival. […]
