On Valentine’s Day, 14 February, the chamber orchestra «Moscow Virtuosi» under the direction of renowned maestro Vladimir Spivakov will perform in the city’s Palace of Culture with a large festive program «Piazzolla Gala» dedicated to one of the most passionate and sensual dances – tango.

The programme will feature the «Seasons in Buenos Aires» suite for violin and orchestra in 4 parts and one of Astor Piazzolla’s most popular works – «Oblivion» («Oblivion»), which won the 1993 Grammy Award as the best instrumental work.

The solo parts in the concert will be performed by the orchestra’s artists, laureates of international competitions Kirill Semyonov (viola), Ripsime Airapetiants, Galiya Zharova, Fyodor Beznosikov (violin), Honoured Artist of Russia Alexei Lundin (violin) and others.

In addition, a charity marathon «From Siberia with Love» from the general partner of the festival, RUSAL, will be held as part of the event.

It should be noted that the performance of a classical music group of such a high world level will be held using new light, sound and visual equipment purchased under an agreement on socio-economic cooperation between Rusal and the city administration.
