Novosybirsk, 27 March. /Vladimir Spivakov, head of the Moscow Virtuosi chamber orchestra, played a duet with Vadim Repin for the first time at the V Trans-Siberian Art Festival in Novosibirsk. Soloists and orchestra performed a Concerto for two Bach violins.

«At the rehearsal we found such an understanding, as if we had played together for the last 25-30 years. Before that I accompanied Vadim many times, standing at the conductor’s desk, and even at the opening of the hall. It was a very good concert that was memorable, at least for me», Spivakov told reporters, remembering the opening concert of the Arnold Katz State Concert Hall held on 11 September 2013.

The maestro noted that playing in an ensemble is a great and special skill. «Here it is important not to protrude yourself; on the contrary, you must treat yourself as calmly as possible. There is something higher – there is music, there is the Bach universe, we bow before it», he explained.

At the concert on 26 March, along with the Concerto for Two Violins, Basso continuo and the Bach Orchestra, Shostakovich’s Chamber Symphony, Kancheli’s Little Daneliade and Piazzolla’s The Seasons in Buenos Aires, performed by orchestra soloists Denis Shulgin, Lev Iomdin, George Cai and Eugene Stembolsky, were performed.

During the concert, additional places for listeners were placed on stage, including gifted children: free presence of young talents at concerts of the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra is a requirement of the team.

The V Trans-Siberian Art Festival led by violinist Vadim Repin is held in Novosibirsk from 15 March to 3 April and is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Novosibirsk Region.
