Concert master of the double bass group
Leonid Bakulin was born in Moscow and graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory named after M.V. Lomonosov. He graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory and completed his postgraduate studies.
In 2000 he won the competition for the orchestra “Philharmonie der Nationen”. He has participated in concerts and festivals in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Austria.
In 2001 was invited to the Russian National Orchestra under the direction of Mikhail Pletnev, where he worked for 5 years. Later he won a competition for the place of concertmaster at the Svetlanov State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture.
In 2011, he was invited by Theodor Kurtenzis to lead a group of double basses in the orchestra “Musica Aeterna”. Over the course of 7 years he was actively involved in numerous projects and the development of the group’s creativity.
Leonid Bakulin constantly performs as a soloist and ensemble player with various orchestras.
Since 2019, he has been an artist with the State Chamber Orchestra “Moscow Virtuosi”.
