Lev Iomdin was born in Moscow. From 1991 to 2003, he studied at the ISSMsh named after Lenin. From 1991 to 2003, he studied at the Gnesins ISSMsh in the class of the Honoured Worker of Culture D.V. Frolovich. In 2008 he graduated from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (violin class of Yuri Krasko, chamber ensemble class of Professor A.Z. Bonduriansky, quartet class of A.A. Shishlov), then continued his postgraduate studies at the Conservatory in the class of Professor A.A. Shishlov. In 2005-2011 he was a concert master of the Youth Chamber Orchestra DSCH under the baton of Ilya Gaisin, winner of international competitions. In 2007-2009, he worked with the Russian National Orchestra. Since 2009 he has been an artist with the State Chamber Orchestra “Moscow Virtuosi”.
In 2001-2006. – is a grantee of the New Names Foundation. As part of the New Names quintet, he has toured several times to cities in Russia and Europe. Scholar of the Russian-Norwegian Society E. Griga, with whose support he annually toured with solo and chamber performances in Sweden, Norway and Hungary.
He participated in the Swedish Chamber Music Festival under the patronage of V. Gergiev, the Moscow Chamber Music Festival “Return” and the V Moscow Easter Festival.
