Sergey Ovsyannikov graduated from the district DMS in the class of G.A. Guseva. From 1986 to 1990 he studied at the Gnesins State University in the class of L.G. Virginigora. From 1990 to 1995 he studied at the Moscow Conservatory named after G.A. Guseva. From 1990 to 1995, he studied at the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory in the class of Professor Bashmet. In 1997, he completed a postgraduate course at his own school. From 1992 to 2000 he worked in Germany in the Philharmonic Orchestra of Nations.

In 2000 he entered the orchestra «‎Moscow Virtuosi». Actively participates in quartet and chamber concert activities.
